Crochet Rose Necklace Pattern

This necklace pattern is versatile and can easily be altered. You can make it shorter or longer, use beads rather than pearls or leave it plain.
I am not including a gauge because it just isn't necessary. I have also omitted the amount of thread you need because I simply have no idea how to figure it out.

You may sell the items you make using this pattern.

Materials:
Aunt Lydia's Classic Crochet Thread Size 10 - Orchid Pink
Red Heart Classic Crochet Thread Size 10 - Frosty Green
6mm Glass Pearls - 6
Small Piece of 28 Gauge Wire
Large Eye Needle
Crochet Hook 1/2 - 75mm

Using green thread - Chain 10.
Row 1 - Dc in 4th chain from hook. dc in next chain, hdc in next 2 chains, sc in next 2 chains, sl st in last chain, ch 1. Working along the opposite side of the chain, sl st in first chain, sc in next 2 chains, hdc in next 2 chains, dc in next 2 chains, ch 3, sl st in top of leaf.

Row 2 - Ch 28. Repeat Row 1. Now you have 2 leaves.

Row 3 - Ch 200, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 2 chains, hdc in next 2 chains, dc in next 2 chains, ch 3, sl st in next chain. Working along the opposite side of the chain, ch 3, dc in next 2 chains, hdc in next 2 chains, sc in next 2 chains, sl st in last chain, ch 1, sl st in first sl st to join.

Row 4 - Working around the leaf, sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 2 hdc, sc in next 2 dc, 3 sc in ch 3 space.

Row 5 - *Sl st in each chain until you reach the next leaf. 3 sc in chain 3 space of leaf, sc in next 2 dc, sc in next 2 hdc, sc in next 2 sc*, 2 sc in chain 1 space of leaf.

Row 6 - Repeat row 5 from * to *. 3 sc in chain 1 space of leaf. Working around the leaf, sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 2 hdc, sc in next 2 dc, 3 sc in chain 3 space of leaf.

Row 7 - Sl st in the outside loop of each sl st (shown below) until you reach the next leaf. 2 sc in chain 1 space of leaf, sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 2 hdc, sc in next 2 dc, 3 sc in chain 3 space.

Row 8 - Sl st in the outside loop of each sl st until you reach the last leaf. 3 sc in chain 3 space of leaf, sc in next 2 dc, sc in next 2 hdc, sc in next 2 sc, 3 sc in ch 1 space of leaf, sl st in first sc, fasten off. Weave in all loose ends.

. To make the second strand of the necklace, repeat the pattern of the first strand but omit Row 2. You are only making 2 leaves for this strand.

Rose -
Using pink thread - ch 39.

Row 1 - Sc in 2nd chain from hook and in each chain across - 38 sc.

Row 2 - Ch 3, 4 dc in first sc, sc in next sc, *5 dc in next sc, sc in sc, repeat from * across. Fasten off, leaving a 12" tail.

Finishing - Thread the tail on a large eye needle. Wrap the piece around itself to form the rose.

Once you are satisfied with the shape of the rose, turn it over and sew the bottom securely.
Weave in all loose ends.

I used 6mm glass pearls for embellishment. The hole in most pearls are too small to accommodate a large eye needle so I folded a piece of 28 gauge wire in half and use it to thread on the pearls.

I attached a pearl to each leaf and to the center of the rose.

Lay your finished rose where you want it on the first necklace strand. Flip the piece over and using green thread, sew the rose to the necklace. Only sew about 1/8" on each side of the rose, leaving the center unattached. You will need the gap to slide the opposite end of the necklace through.

And that's it!

You may wear this necklace with one or two strands.

Here's the same necklace made with Myrtle Green and Wood Violet thread.

Instead of sewing the rose to the necklace, I attached a pin back to this rose.

Here is the necklace using both greens.
